Signed as a free agent this offseason, Depreta-Johnson joins the Boomers following three years with the Joliet Slammers. The right-handed hitter reached Triple-A with the Rangers and enters his seventh season as a professional. Depreta-Johnson played in over 80 games in each of his seasons with Joliet and was a game-changer defensively at shortstop consistently making highlight reel plays. Depreta-Johnson stole 11 bases in each of the past two seasons and was initially a 35th round pick by the Rangers out of Houston Christian University where he was a gold-glove winner and two-time all-conference and all-defensive team selection.
