Lopez was the handyman of the bullpen for the Boomers in his first year as a professional in 2023, seemingly appearing in every role possible. The right-hander pitched in 35 games, racking up 59.2 innings while logging an ERA of 4.83 to go with a 5-3 record and 53 strikeouts. Lopez was dealt to Spire City in the Atlantic League following the season and pitched four times, striking out eight in 4.2 innings of work. A converted catcher, Lopez pitched three years at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
