Dawson returns to the Boomers for a fifth season in 2024, becoming just the third position player ever to play for the team in five years. The Northwest Indiana native has enjoyed a record setting career that has seen four All-Star nods over three different seasons including the past two years as a mid-season selection to go with postseason honors in 2021 and 2023. Dawson set a league record with 24 triples in 2022 and owns 42 three-baggers in his illustrious career. The left-handed hitter has played both infield and outfield over his tenure with the Boomers. Dawson batted .323 last season and set the team’s single season record for steals with 50. Besides setting a record for stolen bases, Dawson also established single season franchise standards for hits and runs. Dawson is the team’s career leader in nearly every offensive category including starts, at bats, hits, runs, triples and RBIs while also sitting second in steals, doubles and games played. The product of Valparaiso University has hit over .300 in each of the past three years, all playoff seasons for the Boomers.
