Win Streak Reaches Five with Comeback

LOVES PARK, Ill. — The Schaumburg Boomers ran their winning streak to five games with a 3-1 comeback win over the Rockford RiverHawks on the road Saturday night. The five game win streak is the longest of the season for the Boomers, who have allowed just two runs in the last four contests.
Rockford opened the scoring with a first inning tally on an RBI single from Michael Hur against Schaumburg starter Robby Donovan. The run was the lone tally Donovan (7-3) would allow in seven innings. The righty walked two and struck out two while scattering four hits. Karexon Sanchez connected on his second homer of the year in the top of the seventh, driving the first pitch from reliever Jordan Goldschmidt over the wall in right-center for a three-run shot to hand the Boomers the lead. Patrick Mincey twirled a 1-2-3 ninth to earn his 12th save.
The series will continue at 6:05 p.m. Sunday. RHP Matt Kuna (2-1, 3.20) takes the hill for the Boomers opposite RHP Cody Hallahan (4-5, 4.30).
