Pair of Local Products Signed for 2025

Manager Jamie Bennett and the Schaumburg Boomers are excited to announce the signings of RHP Derek Salata & INF Tony Livermore for the 2025 season. Both Derek & Tony are originally from the Chicagoland area.

Derek Salata joins the Boomers after completing his collegiate carerr at Illinois State. Salata, who is from Westchester and played at Nazareth Academy, played 5 seasons for the Redbirds going 13-16 with a 4.24 ERA over 193 innings. Salata over his career struck out 197 batters while only allowing 56 walks in the 63 games that he appeared in. During his Senior season in 2023, Derek was named National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and was named MVC Pitcher of the Week. Salata was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 19th round of the 2023 MLB draft.

Tony Livermore arrives in Schaumburg for his first season of professional baseball after playing collegiately for the Northwestern University Wildcats. Tony, originally from Chicago, played four years with the Wildcats primarily as a SS during his career. Livermore was a career .221 hitter with 2 homeruns and 38 RBI's. He was a defensive specialist, with at 98% fielding percentage his senior season and played in 49 out of 50 games for the Cats.
