All-Star Dawson Back for 2022
Schaumburg, IL - The Schaumburg Boomers have re-signed Postseason All-star outfielder Chase Dawson. The outfielder will be back for his third season with the Boomers.
In the 2021 season, Dawson batted .312 with a .379 on-base percentage in 92 games. His 68 RBIs led the Boomers, and he was second on the team in home runs with 10. After the regular season ended, Dawson was named one of the two postseason all-stars for the Midwest Conference of the Frontier League.
“We are very excited to have chase back with us. Chase really had a breakthrough season and showed the kind of player he can be. He can do a lot of things offensively and brings versatility to the lineup. Above all that, he is a great teammate and he plays the game the right way,” said Manager Jamie Bennett.
The native of Chesterton, IN, played his entire college career at Valparaiso University, located in Valparaiso, IN. He batted .276 with a .364 on-base percentage and 88 RBIs for his college career. After college, Dawson signed with the Gary Southshore Railcats, where he only played 13 games before being traded to the Boomers.
The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
