Schaumburg Boomers Sign Reinhardt and Senger for the 2022 Season
Schaumburg IL- The Schaumburg Boomers have added two new faces to the roster for the 2022 season. INF Jake Reinhardt and LHP Mitchell Senger are set to join the defending Frontier League Champs next year.
INF Jake Reinhardt will be entering his first year with the Boomers. The native of Galesburg, IL, played just one year at Augustana University before transferring to North Park University. Reinhardt batted .391 with a .448 on-base percentage in 98 games. He was also named a DIII All-American and a Gold Glove Award winner in his college career.
“Jake had an outstanding college career and was on the radar of some MLB clubs. He is a versatile player that brings a little bit of everything to the table. He is an exciting player that we are looking forward to seeing this spring,” said manager Jamie Bennett.
The Boomers have also added to their pitching staff by acquiring LHP Mitchell Senger; this will be his first season with the club. Senger was a part of the Stetson University Hatters baseball team, where he averaged a 5.05 ERA in 130 IP for his college career.
“Mitchell has proven himself at a high level of college baseball and had some time in pro ball. His upside is extremely high, and we think he could be a major contributor to our pitching staff,” said Manager Jamie Bennett.
In 2019, Senger was drafted in the 26th round by the New York Mets. He saw some time with the Rookie Ball affiliate Kingsport Mets in the Appalachian League, where he averaged 12.46 ERA in 8.2 IP.
The Boomers return home to Wintrust Field in the spring looking to defend their 2021 Frontier League Championship.
